The BCCI has released the schedule for only the first 21 matches, till April 7, as the date for the general election in India is yet to be determined.

On March 24, Rajasthan Royals played their first match against Lucknow Super Giants while Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians started with an away match against Gujarat Titans, his old team.
For the fourth time in six editions, the season opener will be without two of last season's finalists, with last year's runners-up Titans starting their campaign two days later.

The two teams – Punjab Kings and Titans – will play a back-to-back with only a break in the first innings.
